Primitive Black Distressed Buter Block Table/Kitchen Island

I found this old butcher block table at a auction and I thought wow that would be pretty left primitive looking but updated.

So after I bought it very cheap, I sanded all of it down. I had my hubby put 4 rollers on it because it was not quite counter top height and I wanted to make it a kitchen prep table. I treated the top with food safe oils and painted the bottom black.

I then distressed it. As usual I don't want to get rid of it now but I can't keep every piece of furniture I refinish. My house is getting full as it is!. Anyway, here it is.

  1. I love the butcher block table! It looks great! ~Dan~

  2. Nicely done Christie. The distressed black really works well with the colors from the oiled top.

  3. Ooooh, impressive indeed! Are you gonna sell it? It's right up my alley:) Hugs~Carol

  4. Thank you, yep I sold it not long after it was done.
